Brigada Eskwela Schedule

The Department of Education (DepEd) will conduct the 2024 Brigada Eskwela from July 22-27, 2024, to prepare for the school opening on July 29, 2024, as per DepEd Order No. 003, s. 2024.

Purpose

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide school maintenance program engaging all education stakeholders in preparing public schools for class opening. Volunteers from local communities, parents, alumni, civic groups, businesses, NGOs, private individuals, teachers, and students will conduct clean-ups, repairs, and maintenance work.

Theme and Guidelines

The theme for 2024 is "Bayanihan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan." Implementation will follow the mechanics outlined in DO 021, s. 2023.

Kick-off Program

The National Brigada Eskwela Kick-off Program will be held on July 17, 2024, at Carmen National High School in Cebu Province, Region VII, and streamed live on DepEd Philippines' Facebook page. Regional and divisional offices may hold their own advocacy activities.

1. The Department of Education (DepEd) shall conduct the 2024 Brigada Eskwela on July 22-27, 2024, in preparation for the school opening for School Year (SY) 2024-2025 on July 29, 2024. This is consistent with DepEd Order (DO) No. 003, s. 2024 titled Amendment to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2023 (Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2023-2024).

2. The Brigada Eskwela (BE) is a nationwide school maintenance program that engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, efforts, and resources in ensuring that public schools are all set in time for class opening. It is a six-day event where local communities, parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non- governmental organizations (NGOs), private individuals, and even teachers and students volunteer their time and skills for the conduct of clean-ups, minor to medium repairs, and maintenance work in classrooms and within the school sites.

3. The implementation of the 2024 Brigada Eskwela with the theme, Bayanihan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan, shall follow the mechanics provided under DO 021, s. 2023 on the Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines.

4. The National Brigada Eskwela Kick-off Program shall be held on July 17, 2024 at Carmen National High School, in the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Cebu Province, Region VII, to be streamed live via DepEd Philippines official Facebook Page. Regional offices and SDOs may hold their own advocacy activities in their area to launch and campaign for Brigada Eskwela.

5. Proper advocacy and information dissemination shall be undertaken to equip schools and their stakeholders with information on the implementation of Brigada Eskwela. SDOs are encouraged to conduct orientation on Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines with school heads as part of the pre-implementation activities.
